Before we start our field work, we review current and historic parcel information. Gather information from you the client on the property's history, construction history and relevant environmental changes that may have occurred. We also review aerials and topographical data to anticipate physical challenges and potential hazards. These include areas of storm damage with multiple fallen trees, steep elevation changes, low wetland areas with dead snags and high water, and utility conflicts. With this information we are able to make a plan on the most efficient way to move through your property and gather the data we need. We also contact anyone residing on the property, ensure gates are unlocked, property owner is aware and make any additional notifications.
On the day of our field work we will arrive with high visibility vests, and our equipment and immediately get started recording data. Our equipment is minimal and based on the project. Standard equipment includes a tape for measure the diameter at breast height (DBH), IPAD, mobile GNSS Receiver, mallet for sounding trees, and making tape. We will record attributes related to your project. Standard attributes include tree location (long., lat.), Genus species, size of tree as measured by the tree's DBH, and general health condition based on an ISA Level 2 assessment. Estimates of tree canopy size, tree height and unique variables including specific jurisdictional requirements can also be gathered. Trees of historic importance, potential interest to the owner or project lead will also be noted.
The collected data is stored in the cloud and then processed, reviewed and analyzed. This information is then compiled into your unique report with photos, graphs and tables as necessary. Recommendations are made within this report for project clarity and consistency. All reporting is completed to industry best practices and standards.
We send you the report including all information and recommendations. We then meet with you to review our findings, discuss our recommendations, and answer any of your questions. We also will schedule re assessments, or additional consultations at this time and make sure all stakeholders are clear on our findings.
